Meet Kate

Kate holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, where she studied under the poet laureate and served as editor of her year’s published anthology. A Hawthornden Fellow, Kate is the author of California Sol Food, which won the Tabasco Award and was USBookNews’ Book of the Year.

She also holds two Peter Lisagor awards and was an Ian St. James shortlisted author. Her writing has appeared in publications including Vogue, Tatler, Brides, SELF, Chicago Social, FOOD, Food Illustrated and People, amongst many others. She has taught writing in English boarding schools, American upper schools, and at university level. Kate served as a lead writing instructor at StoryStudioChicago until 2018. She has worked as a private writing coach, editor and ghostwriter since 2009.
